countdown

Wow, this is an interesting feeling… I’m flying to Argentina in a couple of days, and man, I’m nervous. I have this butterflies in my stomach, especially today, as I’m starting to pack my suitcase (just to have a view on what I need and how much it weights). I have this trip planned since March, but I’ve been waiting all my life to go to this country. I remember reading Mafalda when I was a kid and thinking how much I wanted to go to this strange place where they spoke a weird Spanish. As I grew up, I discovered Maytena, and kept on learning about the way they thought (from the point of view of this woman, of course). I’ve always watched any Argentine film that fell on my hands and looked at the streets of Buenos Aires showing on the screen with avid eyes. I love tango music. I don’t normally eat sweets, but oh, I love dulce de leche and the alfajor. With time, one Argentine girl became one of my …

first video ever coming soon

Hey there! Today I’ve been doing some video editing, with music, for the first time ever! I’m quite happy with the result, even though I haven’t put it much effort (ha! Just about 2 hours for a 2 minute video!). I took some of the videos I made when I visited my family last Christmas. The videos are filmed while we went hiking to La Bola del Mundo or  Alto de las Guarramillas. It was a nice day, so I took my camera along. I was a bit disappointed as the image is quite orange, but it’s true it gives it a vintage look, I guess… Anyway, I also took some music I downloaded from the Creative Commons and I think it looks pretty good for being my first video ever!! As soon as I figure out exactly how to give credit to the music authors and make sure I won’t get into trouble, I will publish it for all of you to see! Still making the calendar in the meantime… So tired…   marz

my day today

Ah, I didn’t post anything yesterday… It’s OK, I knew every day was going to be difficult, but let’s keep trying, even if I slip from time to time!! Yesterday I was at my friend’s house. She’s another Spanish girl, who is getting married soon! We used to work together but she left the company (and hasn’t looked back yet). We did a Christmas tree at her house just before the holidays (as seen in http://bit.ly/xT8wHs): So anyway, yesterday, I went to visit her at her place, in Camden. We chatted for a while, and then we did some search of old songs, the ones we used to listen to when we were younger (there are some real treasures in there!) and started watching a film. We had some vodka lemonade and some chorizo and fuet (Spanish types of sausages – cured). Thing is, it was late when I left her place. The journey back was so much fun. I was trying to read my book while the couple in front of me were wolfing …

quick daily post

I just got home and have about 10 minutes to write something, if I want to try to keep up the “daily posting” plan. Today I moved seats at work, and it feels weird to not sit next to my friend and manager for the first time in more than 3 years. I guess it will be good to work around more people, but I think I will get bored a bit, as my new team seems quiet. I still don’t have any more news regarding the package, of course. I was having a drink with this guy, as in a date. He is one of the sweetest guys I’ve met in a long time. He was really nice. If he had been so… nerdy, I would have loved him straight away! But he was the really, really nerdy time… It was a shame though, because he was polite and chatty and well, nice. Anyway, I keep looking (yes, that’s one of my projects as well! haha) So, no CV and no calendar today, I’m …
