Composition – Index

garden dwarf

Hello lovely people!

I know you’ve been wondering where I have been, if I had been abducted or if I was OK, but what you have really been wondering is: where is that tutorial? I have no excuses, I’m afraid, just that when I set my mind to doing something, I really work on it. The plan was to do a somehow quick post on composition, giving a couple of tips, but then I started writing, and kept on writing. Suddenly, I had lots of ideas, all the things I learnt in my studies were coming back to me, and I kept writing. The tutorial is not close to being finished, it’s not even in the same galaxy as being finished!

As I’m already quite delayed on this, and I know the key to keep readers engaged is to post regularly, I’ve decided to do a proposal in chapters! I can see your faces of amazement at my genius!

The way this is going to work is like this: there should be a list of topics further down in this post. Those topics, at the moment, appear as a simple list, but as soon as I write each part, I will try to change them into links, so you can always come back to this post and check the next chapter. Hopefully I will manage to do that!

This said list might change if I think later on that maybe I should add another topic to it, or sub-topics, who knows! However, you will always be able to click on the relevant link. If I update any of the topics, I will mention it in that index below.

How does that sound?

Well, without further ado, these are the topics I am going to write about when explaining composition, along with a brief introduction:

  1. Introduction
  2. Colour
  3. Exposure
  4. Contrast
  5. Background
  6. Subject
  7. Grain/Texture
  8. Subject
  9. Format

I will try to update regularly, so you guys don’t get bored, but bear in mind that I’m also trying to do some research, mainly images to illustrate what I’m talking about, and that takes time.

I hope you enjoy it, and if you think of anything in particular you would like me to talk, please feel free to let me know.

Take care and see you soon!

Ah, that’s really sweet, thanks! 🙂

It took me a moment to figure out who you were, and you were right in your comment on the nominations: I had no clue you were following!
