Gosh I’m tired. Properly tired.
Last night I couldn’t sleep very well, but I still managed to get up early this morning. When I say early I mean early. I was up at 6am.
I had decided to start meditating and doing some light yoga, and so I started this morning. I am following two different apps, one for meditation and another one for yoga.
Last night, I meditated for the first time in months (I had never got to the point of making a habit out of it anyway, I don’t want you to think I was some sort of balanced person) and it felt terrible. At some point, breathing became difficult, like my ribs were pressing on my lungs and I didn’t have enough space for oxygen. I did the 10 minutes of the session and went to bed.
This morning, I was a bit apprehensive. I was thinking that maybe meditation is just not for me. However, I tried. It was so much better. I felt comfortable and relaxed. Score!
After that, I practised yoga. I only did about 15 minutes, the sun salutation, but for beginners (which seems to involve the cow something something, instead of the cobra). I felt quite silly because the app I’m using has voice instructions and some of them are funny, like “stretch with delight”.
Anyway, I did feel refreshed. I got ready and then I went to have blood tests done. I did all that and I still managed to get to work on time.
After, I was saying that I wanted to eat a burrito at some point this week, but since I am a bit broke, it was best not to, and to bring homemade food instead (which I had already done today) and then, we got an email that a Mexican place just round the corner were giving free burritos between 11am and 3pm.
So far, everything seemed to go my way! Even the bus I usually take back home arrived within seconds of my friend and I getting to the bus stop, when we normally have to wait.
Finally, my Macbook Air arrived today. I’ve already been playing with it, and setting stuff up, and I have to say that so far I love it. Let’s see how long it lasts, but so far so good.
Now I need to get a case for it. My friend showed me a couple of them, which I obviously pinned, so I won’t forget about them, and added a cheeky “please?” after sending me the links. It seems he wants me to make him one. Here they are:
I’ve never worked with leather, real or not, so that would be a challenge. I still have plenty of things to do before that, though.
Still have to work on the Hawaiian shirt (party is next week!), which sounds a bit scary at the moment, since every time I grab the sewing machine I make a mess. I also have to finish the bag I made for my brother’s climbing shoes… And many other projects!
If you have any ideas for a laptop case, please send them my way! I would love to see them and get some inspiration…
That was my Monday. At some point, while ordering the burrito, I said “This is the best Monday ever!” Unfortunately, the guy heating up the tortillas heard me and wasn’t that thrilled about the day. He replied “Maybe for you” and I thought karma would hit me on the face, because everything I said after that made it worse! Ha-ha! OK, he did find the whole conversation funny.
So that was my Monday, it was fun and positive. I can’t wait to go to sleep tonight though, even if I know I’ll be wanting to play with the laptop.
How was your Monday? Has it been good to you?
