It’s a Bank Holiday Monday today, and I can’t believe I’m going back to the office tomorrow (even if briefly).
To be completely honest with you, I would rather not have to go to the office. Not so much because of work, but more because of having to physically go to the office for just two days.
This week has passed with no news from my side. I’ve spent most of it at home, either recovering, or resting, or being downright lazy. I’ve tackled my room, which was a mess since before I left on holidays to the snow and had become worse since I got back, and managed to reorganise my desk a bit. I even got rid of my printer, the one I never managed to sync with my MacBook and was simply taking up space, and replaced it with my sewing machine, much more useful indeed.
The whole weekend has been spent mostly reading and sleeping, which I guess I needed to some extent (a holiday after my holiday), and I feel now quite recovered. Of course, this means my body doesn’t want the surge in activity that going to the office entails, but there’s nothing we can do about that. My only consolation is knowing that I’ll be in the office for only two days before I’ll be on holidays again.
To answer the question my mum would be asking me about this time, no, I haven’t started packing yet. You know that! I’ll pack at the very last possible minute! I’m still tidying the clothes and stuff from my snowboarding trip! I finally put the bindings back on the board and store it away.
I’m going to be in Madrid for eight days, off work. That’s a lot of free time! I guess I’ll visit my family and do the usual stuff (eat), but I’m also bringing my camera with me! I want to workout while I’m there (mum, don’t let me sleep crazy amounts of time!), but other than that, I have no clue what I’m going to spend my time doing… Oh, yeah, renewing all my official documents and cards (ID, passport, the lot!) before I become an illegal traveller!
My parents haven’t tried any of my cakes yet, so I think I’ll try to bake something for them, see how it goes with a proper oven! Also, my mum has recently learnt how to sew, so I might try to make pyjama pants or harem pants while there, but that’ll depend on fabric availability and overall mood and all that. After that, it’ll be back to reality for real (that sounded weird, didn’t it?)
I haven’t seen Sean in ages… I think the last time was on Valentine’s Day, when we met for lunch and a beer briefly between my stay at Ronald McDonald. We are finally meeting up again tomorrow after work, to go for a beer and some poutin at our favourite sports bar, and I can’t wait. It’s a pity Brian can’t make it in the end, as it would have been a lot of fun to reunite part of the gang again, but that’s alright, we’ll do another one when I’m back and everyone is a bit more settled down.
It’s amazing… It’s already April, and when I get back from my holidays, it’ll be almost the end of the month. How can time go by so fast? Isn’t it a bit scary?
As last time, I will try to update here during my time off, but let’s be honest, I’ll probably forget what day I live in. Still, in the off chance I remember, you know, Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays!
See you soon!
