Halloween Jack at The Barfly Camden

Keeping it up

I had a post ready for Friday, but I needed to add a few things and proof read it before publishing. I was planning on doing that at lunchtime, but I was busy all day, and then I had to leave early to go to Secret Cinema, so I never got to finish it. Here it is now. I really don’t do middle ground… It’s always all or nothing, it seems. I don’t do the whole trying stuff a little bit and see what happens. What’s the point of that? First things first. During the past few days, I’ve noticed another #nonscalevictory from the Whole30 programme. For the past… how many days has it been now? 47 days! Amazing… Anyway, yeah, so for the past 47 days there’s something that has changed in me, and it’s not my weight (which it has, of course). My attitude. A couple of people have told me that I look genuinely happy these days and the truth is, I feel happy. I’m not sure if mood swings are one …

Let’s rock and roll!

Last week I was invited by Halloween Jack to be a photographer for their gig on Thursday at The Underbelly of Hoxton in London. This is something I had never done before. The closest would be by taking my smartphone or point-and-shoot camera and snapping some drunken pictures of our shenanigans in a pub. First of all, there isn’t a proper source of light. It seems that light levels are relatively constant (er… dark all the time?) but since the light moves from one lamp to another, and changes colours, it’s difficult to get great results. I read a lot about the subject because, even if I do understand my camera, and how photography works and how to play around with the settings, the unknown is something that makes me nervous, what can I say? On the night, I went …

A few photos for you!

Hello everyone! I’m trying to post regularly again, as I’m aware I’ve been leaving the blog quite abandoned. This weekend I’ve spent it mostly cleaning. I was tidying my room on Saturday, but for some reason, I don’t know what I’ve done, it’s again a mess. Ah well… Today I went to my friend’s for lunch and we had raclette. I love it so much! It was nice to catch up, and to meet her friend, and gossip for a bit. I even got to practise my French listening skills! After eating a lot, we even had dessert. My friend had cooked an apple tart, and her friend had brought cakes from Paul’s (as I don’t have such a sweet tooth, I brought the cold meat – but I did eat some tart!) Everything was super yummy! Afterwards, I came home and started working on the photos I took at my friends’ gig. There are quite a few that I actually like! I don’t want to share them with you yet, because I want them …
