H is for holiday

I’m officially on holidays (huzzah!) I think I have been waiting for this since my holidays in January (Argentina). The last days at work, I could almost feel my skin itch and hurt! Right now, I’m at home, packing and chilling out with some great music, getting ready for tonight, when I will be flying to Ibiza (I know, I know, those of you following me on Twitter or Facebook are already fed up of hearing me speaking about this holiday, especially in the last 48 hours). Last night, we had another run with the Nike+ Run Club, and it was superhero costume themed. I was so excited preparing the costume, posting pictures, teaser style, and pretty much jumping around in excitement… The previous night I stayed up until 1am finishing my costume and helping Loida with hers… and it paid off: I ran like I had never ran before! (insert big smug smile here). I managed to stop later than usual for the first time, and then have another short stop again, and that’s …

Argentina, part III

I left my story about my trips in Argentina a bit halfway… Sorry about that! I was too busy doing things than blogging about them! In any case, here I am again. The trek around Estancia Cristina was incredible. I’ve never walked as much as these past weeks, but I have definitely discovered a love for walking around in the wild. With scenery like this, you’ve got to love the outdoors: Upsala Glacier As you can imagine, I don’t get to see this in London! We walked for many hours, and had lunch at a viewpoint on top of a hill. We were really tired and our clothes were full of burr seeds! It was quite painful to try to get them off! That was my last day in El Calafate, and it was worth it every second of it. The next day, I didn’t want to leave, even though I was finally going to see my friend for a few days. Back in Buenos Aires, I had a great time as well with my …

Argentina, part I

I am in Ushuaia, Argentina. I am loving it here! I arrived on Monday, after 2 hours delay… The plane’s nose wheel got stuck in a 90 degrees position, so we couldn’t take off. They gave us another plane and we left. Now, not sure if you’ve ever travelled to Ushuaia, but basically, the runway is like a mini version of a real one. It’s on a small strip of land, and it pretty much starts and ends in water. I got in safe though (phew!) Yesterday, or Monday, I had a boat trip booked on the Beagle Channel. It was nice and fun. I got on well with the captain and the crew, and they even shared their mate with me! I got an Argentine flag as a souvenir at the end of it: I have now to take a picture of it, somewhere in the world, and send it to them. Sounds fun! Today, I had a trekking and canoeing booked. It was a full day trip and it was so much fun! …

down the memory lane

Today it was quite good at work. The team are finally coming to me to ask me questions, and I felt a bit more like I belonged in there. This has been a hectic week. I have been doing so many things, been so busy… Luckily it’s over now and I’m officially on holidays!! It’s funny how time passes by… I was thinking earlier, I had wanted to go to Argentina last Christmas, and couldn’t afford it. Then, I booked the flights in March. I was in my previous flat, and my card was blocked because my bank thought it had been stolen! I had to spend 40 minutes trying to get it to work again. I changed my bank, and my flat. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great they picked the strange online shopping, but I still think they should have tried contacting me or something before blocking my card and forcing me to answer a lot of questions on the phone, and keep me on hold for nearly 15 minutes! I …
