Another day one

It never ceases to amaze me when someone randomly drops into a conversation the fact that they read this blog. I’ve mentioned it before, my first reaction is to think why?. My second reaction is probably blush and be utterly embarrassed and self-conscious, but that’s another story… I remember the many times people have mentioned that they look out for my posts on Facebook because they found them funny. Seriously? I’m funny? I haven’t written many of those posts in a while, but then again, I have the feeling I haven’t posted that much on Facebook anyway. If I look back at my timeline, it seems I’ve been pretty active during the past month, posting a few times a day, and either every day or every couple of days. Weird, I don’t have the feeling to have been much online. I know I’ve started sharing my Instagram photos and posting a lot about the changes I’ve been doing in the past 30 days or so… I haven’t been sharing many of my random stories. I …

The finish line

This is it. Well, this is almost it. Today is day 29 of my Whole30 challenge. I can’t believe I’ve gone almost 30 days with no bread, cheese, or alcohol… Or sugar. It’s almost over, or is it? If you’ve been following me around, I mean on social media, then you’ll have already seen that I’m planning on adding a few more days to the Whole30. At the moment, although I’m seeing some results (I’m definitely less inflated, and someone who hasn’t seen me for the past couple of weeks just told me I’ve lost weight), I’m not feeling the tiger blood that they mention. It might be because of feeling sick this last whole week… I don’t want to end this plan in a negative light, so I’ve decided to do a Whole37-40. I haven’t decided yet. Also, I have a steam train trip planned with Brian on Saturday, and I don’t want to risk a tough reintroduction of foods and feeling sick or having an upset stomach while I’m supposed to have a …

Update on progress

There’s nothing like a long weekend to make you feel great, and there’s nothing like a long weekend in which the day you have off is a Monday. If I’m completely honest with all of you, I haven’t done that much this weekend. At first I thought I would have time to make another dent at my stuff, but I spent Saturday running errands. On Sunday I had photos taken, thanks to a voucher I bought a while ago, and today, well, I haven’t done much either. That’s the beauty of weekends, isn’t it? I am doing this crazy overhaul of my life at the moment, getting rid of everything that seems to be weighing me down. Unfortunately, there are some aspects I’m stuck with for the foreseeable future, but hey, baby steps. Rome wasn’t conquered in a day, and all that. So anyway, as you know, I’m getting rid of a lot of my stuff, to create space for myself, as well as calmness and wellness or whatever. Anything sending negative vibes my way …

Joyful home

I don’t know what’s going on these days, but I keep forgetting to post on the blog! I am so focused on everything else that when I remember about it, it’s usually too late at night and I’m too tired to even lift a finger. They say when you miss posts to just write a new one like nothing happened, so it doesn’t seem like you’re apologising or something, but I’m not entirely sure that’s the way to go. If you have a schedule (supposedly), and you miss it, then surely you need to let your readers know what’s going on, right? As you know, I’m doing Whole30 (I’m on day 17, yay!) and I both love it and hate it. I love it because it’s true I’m feeling better overall. I don’t feel bloated after eating my meals and I believe I might have dropped a size or so. I hate it because it involves a lot of planning, and I’m terrible at that. Normally, if I find myself with an empty fridge, I …
