Crawling back…

Today, I’m writing a post which is slightly different from my usual stuff… I think. There aren’t any cakes hidden anywhere, no challenges and no photos. Sorry! As you probably know, I am on Spotify (see widget on the right sidebar, after a bit of scrolling down). What you might not know though is that I am always on Spotify. I don’t play music when I get up in the morning because I don’t want to wake up anyone, but as soon as I leave the flat, I’m wearing my earplugs. There’s nothing worse than a commute when I can’t listen to music (I know, it’s happened in the past, when my account decided it didn’t want to work for a while, and it caught me off guard, so I wasn’t carrying a book, or even a magazine… it was back when I used the Tube to commute, so not even scenery to pass the time). I listen to music quite often at work and when my friend used to work at the same company, …

Let’s rock and roll!

Last week I was invited by Halloween Jack to be a photographer for their gig on Thursday at The Underbelly of Hoxton in London. This is something I had never done before. The closest would be by taking my smartphone or point-and-shoot camera and snapping some drunken pictures of our shenanigans in a pub. On this occasion, my friend had asked me if I would be interested in advance, so I had time to prepare and worry about the outcome. Taking photographs at concerts or bars is quite tricky. First of all, there isn’t a proper source of light. It seems that light levels are relatively constant (er… dark all the time?) but since the light moves from one lamp to another, and changes colours, it’s difficult to get great results. I read a lot about the subject because, even if I do understand my camera, and how photography works and how to play around with the settings, the unknown is something that makes me nervous, what can I say? On the night, I went …

A little bit about me

Wow, thanks for all the visits and comments (most done on a face to face basis) about the sneak preview of the gig’s photos! I’m really glad you guys liked them, and I hope you will like the rest. I’m not sharing any more for now, because I’m talking to the band so we can decide who will share which ones first, before they get out for everyone to see. Lots of collaboration here! However, I want to thank you again for your feedback and support, you guys are the best! Today, I would like to write about something else, nothing to do with photography or my usual personal challenges. Since I’ve been around music stuff lately, and I’m always listening to my own playlists on a daily basis (you can’t imagine the struggle when my phone was malfunctioning and I couldn’t listen to music during my commute!), I’ve decided to share my latest favourite songs with you. So, here’s a usual “what I’m listening to” list. Don’t get used to it! Unless you really …

Many faces

I was supposed to write a post on Sunday! If you were waiting for it, sorry! Anyway, here it is now: Lately, I’ve realised how different people have different opinions about me. I think each person normally only gets to see a side of me only. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as if I were some sort of two-faced one (is it me or that sentence just looks weird?) but the way I see it is more like a multifaceted diamond. There you go, I’m a diamond! Ha! Imagine a massive one though. If you’re standing on one side, you can’t possibly see all the other sides it has (it has to be a really big diamond though, not a size 0, mini one!). See? That’s the main issue. Some people get to see different sides of me at different times (the more they know me, the more different situations they’ll see me in) but otherwise, it’s just work-me, or pub-me, or running-me (not much of this last one lately, I know). So, to …
