Another day one

It never ceases to amaze me when someone randomly drops into a conversation the fact that they read this blog. I’ve mentioned it before, my first reaction is to think why?. My second reaction is probably blush and be utterly embarrassed and self-conscious, but that’s another story… I remember the many times people have mentioned that they look out for my posts on Facebook because they found them funny. Seriously? I’m funny? I haven’t written many of those posts in a while, but then again, I have the feeling I haven’t posted that much on Facebook anyway. If I look back at my timeline, it seems I’ve been pretty active during the past month, posting a few times a day, and either every day or every couple of days. Weird, I don’t have the feeling to have been much online. I know I’ve started sharing my Instagram photos and posting a lot about the changes I’ve been doing in the past 30 days or so… I haven’t been sharing many of my random stories. I …

Day 1 of 30 – a Whole30 month

Today it’s the first day of the Whole30 challenge, and I’m scared. I’ve been planning, reading, and getting nervous for a week, and the day is here already. Not sure if you’ve heard about Whole30 before, but if you haven’t, let me tell you a little bit about it. This plan is not a weight loss diet as such, although it helps on that area too. Based on a Paleo diet, the Whole30 aims to eliminate all foods that our bodies aren’t thrilled about for 30 days, to reset our digestive health. After that, there’s a careful reintroduction of said foods, where you get to analyse how (if at all) they affect your body and mind. The premise of this is that some foods we’re used to might not be doing us much good, but we’re so used to them, we don’t notice them anymore. Feeling not 100% right has become our new normal.
