Photos

I am in not such a great mood at the moment, so apologies for the lack of motivational stuff… The reason is because on Sunday, I hurt my knee when doing Day 2 of Insanity, which sucks a lot. I haven’t done anything serious to it, but I’ve been told by the doctor to wear a crutch to avoid putting all my weight on it, and to not run or do any weird workouts for at least 3 weeks. See? It sucks… So, to avoid writing a negative post, I decided to share with you some pictures from my last trip to Paris. As usual, you can see more photos on flickr. I hope you like them! It felt right to give the photos a vintage look, for some reason. Maybe because I could imagine walking around these gardens when the nobility did (OK, there was no photography back then, but I don’t know how to do an oil painting) Of course, the moment I saw the ram (Aries) I had to take a photo …

More photos from Paris, or Part II

Hello, me here! As part of trying to finish things I have half done, and also of posting frequently (and with an actual schedule, imagine!) I am going to try to keep things interested around here. A while ago, I mentioned there were more photos from Paris to come, and here they are. If you want a refresher, the photos from Pere Lachaise are here. Of course, you can find all these and many more on my flickr stream, if you’re curious. This is a small flower market my friend and I found ourselves. It’s behind Notre Dame. I seem to take photos of the cathedral only from behind, for some reason… Next time I’m there (in a couple of weeks), I’ll try to take some from the front! My friend took this photo of me. I’ve done a bit of post processing with the colours and such, but the composition and the rest are all hers! So, this is Aissa, my friend. She’s the best guide to walk around Paris. She’s the one taking …

Let’s rock and roll!

Last week I was invited by Halloween Jack to be a photographer for their gig on Thursday at The Underbelly of Hoxton in London. This is something I had never done before. The closest would be by taking my smartphone or point-and-shoot camera and snapping some drunken pictures of our shenanigans in a pub. On this occasion, my friend had asked me if I would be interested in advance, so I had time to prepare and worry about the outcome. Taking photographs at concerts or bars is quite tricky. First of all, there isn’t a proper source of light. It seems that light levels are relatively constant (er… dark all the time?) but since the light moves from one lamp to another, and changes colours, it’s difficult to get great results. I read a lot about the subject because, even if I do understand my camera, and how photography works and how to play around with the settings, the unknown is something that makes me nervous, what can I say? On the night, I went …

A few photos for you!

Hello everyone! I’m trying to post regularly again, as I’m aware I’ve been leaving the blog quite abandoned. This weekend I’ve spent it mostly cleaning. I was tidying my room on Saturday, but for some reason, I don’t know what I’ve done, it’s again a mess. Ah well… Today I went to my friend’s for lunch and we had raclette. I love it so much! It was nice to catch up, and to meet her friend, and gossip for a bit. I even got to practise my French listening skills! http://instagram.com/p/n2yK38wl-K/ After eating a lot, we even had dessert. My friend had cooked an apple tart, and her friend had brought cakes from Paul’s (as I don’t have such a sweet tooth, I brought the cold meat – but I did eat some tart!) http://instagram.com/p/n3A83rwl5y/ Everything was super yummy! Afterwards, I came home and started working on the photos I took at my friends’ gig. There are quite a few that I actually like! I don’t want to share them with you yet, because I …
