Lacing up my shoes again

This weekend has been a bit annoying, I would say. I’ve spent the whole week with knee and lower back pain, which hasn’t been great. I’ve also been busy at work with some tedious tasks, which never helps improve the overall mood. Finally, I’ve been reminded how the person I (really) like doesn’t like me back (or at least not in the same way), and that has brought my mood even downer. I’ve been trying not to think about it, because when I do, well, it’s not pretty. As I’ve told my friends today, going for a run this morning really helped improved my mood. Even when I had spent most of the weekend with lower back pain, and wondering over and over again why I’m so unlucky with guys, it’s been quite a boost. I wasn’t sure how I was going to do, because of all the aches and stuff. This morning, I woke up at 6am. Yes, me, on a Sunday, 6am. Ouch. Since I couldn’t get moving, I decided to have a …

Too many ideas, not enough time

It’s been a tough week at work. By the end of it, I wanted to get up and go home, in the middle of a Friday. I didn’t because, well, it wouldn’t have been professional, but also because I had lunch plans with a friend in the area. At least, the week is now over and the weekend is here. This weekend I have a few ideas I want to pursue (look at that, big words and everything!) and might take me longer or not. For example, I want to change my blog theme. I am a bit tired of the blog’s aesthetics, so I’m thinking of re-jiggling it a bit. Of course, my knowledge of WordPress is limited, and the amount of customisation I can do isn’t much either, but I’ve seen a couple of themes I like, one of them even free! Now, don’t get all excited. You won’t see the change happening this weekend, probably not next week either, but keep an eye out! Tomorrow I need to go on a mission. …

One leg stands

OK, this is already starting to get boring. I’m still on crutches. It’s been already longer than a week, and my knee should be getting better, only it isn’t. As soon as I have to walk more than 200m, or have to climb a flight of stairs, my knee starts hurting again. I know it’s a bit #FirstWorldProblems but when you have to work from home, or have to make two trips to the kitchen, or are likely to trip over your very own crutches, well, then it gets boring pretty fast. Of course, the main issue is that you suddenly realise how many things you would like to be doing, that you actually can’t, things such as wearing high heels, or running 5k. The whole bonus of getting attention and people bringing me coffee is starting to wear thin. This is just by having pain, mind you, I am not wearing a cast, or have to be in bed all day, I imagine those would be much worse in terms of boredom (and pain) …

Homemade weekend

Not being able to run about is tedious. Sure, I can walk, but I would rather be hopping here and there. Since I have to rest the knee as much as possible, and I’m in a bad mood about it, I decided to be an indoors cat this weekend, and take it as easy as possible. Good thing about being indoors is that you realise how much you miss the outdoors, I guess, but also, you catch up on projects. To be completely fair with all of you, I haven’t caught up on any of the projects I mentioned on this post, unfortunately. However, I have done a few other things. I’ve finally fixed my brother’s rucksack. It’s not perfect, I’m afraid, and I didn’t manage to insert the top handle again without having a crisis with my sewing machine, but it’s usable again. I wouldn’t put too much weight in it though… just in case. I’ve also done project #1 from Love at First Stitch, the book from Tilly, at Tilly and the Buttons. …
