Welcome cards and gifts from friends

And just like that, it’s done

This is it. I’m moved. I still haven’t closed my old flat, of course, but I’m typing this from the dinning table in my new flat, and it feels weird. It has been a crazy couple of weeks. There were talks of moving already last year, and I almost left my flat back in November or so (it never happened, for different reasons). Now, the day has come, and I’m here. One thing I have learnt is that no matter how much rubbish you get rid of, you probably still have way too much stuff. I can’t think how it would have been if I hadn’t discarded all those clothes, books, DVDs and papers. Still, I have way too much kitchen stuff, especially for baking (which I haven’t done in a while, because of lack of space), and crafts. Lots of craft materials. I believe (and I might be wrong, because I stopped paying attention at some point), that I have at least four boxes filled to the top with yarn, fabric and filling. Then, …

And it’s gone

It is undeniable that your body knows better than you do. I’m not trying to be metaphysical or anything, it’s just that our body knows its limits. When you try to push it, you can only do so until you reach your limit and before you damage yourself, your body stops you. It will faint or it will give you a minor injury so that you stop whatever it is you’re doing and rest. I haven’t been anywhere near my limits, and that’s not it, but it’s true that I’ve been very tired lately. Yesterday, I tried out the local gym with my friend Oummou, and since I wasn’t sure what to try, I went on the treadmill for a cheeky 10-minute run (which made me sweat a lot!), and then tried out different machines. I stepped on the step machine (ha!) and I hated every second of the 30 seconds I lasted, so I went on to the cross trainer, which was still tough, but much more enjoyable. The one machine I really wanted …

Weekend

As I write today’s post, I’m not sure I’m going to make it on time for it to be a Sunday one… This weekend has been very quiet, and I couldn’t be happier about it. First of all, on Saturday I volunteered at the British Heart Foundation 10k run in Greenwich. Once again, it was a lot of fun. I came back home afterwards and spent my day relaxing, pretty much. I watched a film that I wanted to write about, Fast Girls which I thought was going to be the typical stupid girly film, but it actually wasn’t, or at least not entirely. Today, I started the day by doing the fitness test for the Body Project. It’s fair to say that I’m not fit at the moment. Not only I had to weigh myself and take measurements, but also had to do the plank, push ups, the ski sit (or something like that), burpees and run 1k as fast as I could. I was winded when I finished. Not good. I went shopping …

Writing about nothing…

I was writing a post and half way through I pressed ctrl+z by mistake and it all went poof!, deleted. Ah well, round two, I guess… I was just saying that the weekend has been interesting, yet boring. Friday was nice, I went for a drink with my date, and while the bar was cool, and the views were amazing, I must say that I wasn’t wowed. The girls there were dressed like bimbos, and the drinks were quite expensive (the guys were dressed as City guys, mainly, but I wouldn’t expect anything else from that area). So, slightly disappointed by the place. We had fun though. Even though we’re definitely not meant for each other, we laughed and chatted for a few hours, before trying to brave the elements and fight the wind that was raging outside. As usual, coming back home turned into a quest. I had to take a different route, as I had just missed my train, and I ended up in the middle of nowhere, waiting for a bus that …
