How do we stay connected?

Today I’ve been thinking… We live in the 21st century. We are connected to everyone and everywhere in the world, through every kind of method. As an example, I am on Facebook, because it helps me stay connected with all my friends and family, and share pictures, comments or whatever; I am also on Gmail, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest… Some of those are just to share photos or thoughts, other really are to connect. Yes, I make a distinction; for example, I don’t use Pinterest to connect to people, but to collect images. Anyway. So I used to use MSN, and I would chat with my mum and my nan over there. I have friends who are on Skype, but for some reason, I just don’t like it. Now, I’m forced to use it, actually, only I don’t. I’ve moved to Google chat. It’s right there, on my email. My brother uses it and he introduced me to it. He doesn’t like other methods of communication (online, that is) so that’s what he uses mostly. I …

Volunteering at charity events

Do you remember when I said I had lots of news? Well, this is it, my friends! I’ve officially started my new role, and it’s very exciting. I will get to be a bit creative and there is so much to do! I’ve spent my first couple of days just reading material and figuring out how to do my tasks, and writing some plans of action I will need to follow. There’s so much to learn as well! It’s been a long while since the last time I felt lost at work, but I love the feeling. Luckily, my new manager is very helpful! OK, that’s all I’m going to write about work, at least for now! However, if I end up really liking it, I might start sharing more stuff… Let me apologise in advance! Flat hunting isn’t going as well as we would like it to, but I think it’s normal. See, there is my goal, which is finding a nice flat, in a nice area, for an affordable rent. Then, there’s the …

Breaking News

So, today I officially left my team in Sales. I’ve been working in sales for the past (almost) five years, and now it’s time to turn the page. On Monday, I’m starting as an Internal Communications Coordinator, in the Marketing department – still in the same company! This is very exciting for me, as I get to be a bit more creative at work, and have the difficult task of engaging my fellow coworkers with news and content about our company! I can’t believe I just wrote about work, a topic I had decided not to write about here a long time ago! Anyway, more news! I’m moving soon, so I’m now searching for a new abode. As some of you already know, my brother has come to live in London, and we’ve decided to share a flat. So please, if you hear of any nice affordable place in London, ideally South-ish, let me know. Moving date is set for end of July! I’m viewing a bunch of flats tomorrow, so wish me good luck! …

Family

I just want to show you a few pictures of my immediate family – not everyone though! So far, here are my parents and my nan. As soon as I manage to get proper pictures of my brother I will try to show them here too. I like these two pictures because they were completely unprepared! They were taken some time ago during summer. I love this picture, because they show a great loving couple after more than 30 years of marriage! I can’t believe I managed to get a picture of my nan where she doesn’t appear covering her face. She doesn’t like appearing in pictures! Whenever my parents come to London, we walk and walk for hours! I’m glad I have fun parents – and a bit crazy! My mum is always up to something, and always making jokes. Here, my nan was probably telling me off for taking her picture!! I hope you liked this peek at my family! More stuff to come soon!
