Playing with ink!

Hello everyone! I guess this post can be included in the Handmade Life category (yay!!), and it’s a good thing, since it’s been a long time since I last posted about that sort of topic… so, let me place the pretty title below, and let’s begin! On Monday, I went to a screen printing workshop at The Book Club. I had never done screen printing before, but it’s something I’ve wanted to try for a while now. To play with inks and fabric, and create something unique? Totally my thing! At first, I was going with a friend, but I finally went there on my own, which is something I tend to do quite often lately, just try stuff by myself and, you know, jump in there and see what happens. I arrived early, and it was quite intimidating. I had never been in that place before, and there were people sitting around in groups, drinking and chatting, and then me. You know I’m into photography, and even though I’m not a great photographer, I’m always taking pictures (not as many as I would like to, though!) I recently downloaded Instagram for my Sony Ericsson (oh, yeah!) but unfortunately, my stream (right, I’m not sure if that’s how it’s called, I’m guessing I’m just borrowing that name from Flickr) looks quite empty for the moment. Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is that as a profile picture, I posted a photo I took some weeks ago with my phone, with an app that allows you give your photos some vintage look. I published the image as my profile, both on Facebook and Instagram, and my friend Jeff saw it and he liked it. Jeff owns a company called inksquire (sorry Jeff, I’m not sure if that goes with a capitalĀ i or not), and he does art on images. He asked if he could work on the photo, so I sent it to …
