On holidays

So the world didn’t end on Friday. Go figure. I was all ready with my emergency supplies, my energy chocolate bars, ridiculous amounts of toothpaste and camera in hand, and the world didn’t end. Well, at least I’m well stocked for a very long time now… I got home after quite an uneventful journey: I didn’t suffer any major train problems, despite the warnings of severe delays, the plane didn’t crash… Hey, it wasn’t even delayed! During the flight, I finally finished the book I had been reading for the past week (The Great Gatsby), listened to some music and even managed to have three (yes, you read that correctly, three) micro-siestas!

Possibly last post of the blog…

OK, I’m starting to panic, as in really panic, with all this end of the world stuff. I’m not ready for the end of the world!!! I know, I know, it’s all my fault, for leaving it to the last minute, but you know me, I can’t help it: I normally work better under pressure (hey, it was only last night that I went shopping for presents and finally tidied my house, packed my suitcase, installed some software I needed in the netbook I’m taking with me, charged the battery for my camera and called my parents). This whole end of the world thing is now getting to me. It seemed far, like some joke, but now it’s here, it’s now, and I’m not ready.

Santa Run Challenge

I am exhausted! Today it was the big day: the Do It For Charity Santa Run in Greenwich Park. A friend and I were running for Lupus UK. Yesterday, I went to stay at my friend’s place, so we could drive to the park in the morning. We had so much fun last night… There was a lot of gossip, laughs and swearing! Fun, fun. Today, we woke up at 8am. I was shattered.

Somewhere along the line

I was just thinking… What has happened to us? Not all of us, just some… When we are kids, we are full of dreams… We want to be astronauts, or doctors, or vets, or firemen… We want to be rock stars! We are so full of projects and aspirations. We draw these amazing pieces of art, we sing and feel no shame. We run like the wind (or we like to think so), we are stronger than our dads, and we’re funny. Hey, everyone laughs at our jokes and great ideas.
