Tio Pepe after

Some photos from Madrid

This weekend has been a bit of a drag, but for good reason. I haven’t gone out of my flat at all, and spent most of it being super lazy in front of my laptop. One of the most rewarding things you can do when you’re not feeling yourself is listening to your body, and actually giving it what it’s telling you it needs. On Saturday, I woke up relatively early, feeling tired and with zero motivation to do anything. As I was waiting for my boss to text me and let me know whether I needed to go find a last minute item for the trade show next week, I lay in bed, checking my emails and social media, and began to realise I really needed to stay in. Last Thursday, I was feeling so tired and so sick, and had such a bad headache, that I took the day off, but it didn’t feel enough, even though I slept almost 24 hours in total. On Saturday, when I received the message telling me …

Blog-ception, a post about the blog itself!

Today, I decided to show you the front page of the blog, and explain a bit how you can navigate it more easily, if you’re interested on it. I know some of you have had some issues in the past, and I thought maybe there are more of you out there! In order to do that in a clear way, I’ve decided to take a screenshot of the front page (or rather, a bunch of them), and explain it. I hope this helps! First of all, you’ll find the top menus and the featured posts. There are two different top menus, one for the different pages of the blog, and one for categories. These menus, along the name of the blog on the left, will always show at the top. If you ever want to return to the front page, simply click on [shutter and ink] and you’ll come back to it. The pages of the blog are About, Blog, FAQ, Contact me and Disclaimer. You can find this menu on the top right corner, …

Book Club #6 – Fight Club

If you ask people around you about Fight Club, chances are they’ve seen the film (or know about the film, at least), but they don’t really know there’s a book out there. Go ahead, ask the people around you, and let me know if I’m right. Being 100% honest here, I didn’t know there was a book as well, or rather, I forgot. I think I found out by chance years ago, but my brain didn’t really keep that information. When one of the attendees to the book club suggested it, I thought it would be a great idea! As a side note here, the book club we’re running at work is small but we are a very engaged group! I finished reading Fight Club ages ago. It was the first book I read on my Kindle, and I’m now reading my sixth book (I received the Kindle about a month and a half ago!) and so I was a bit worried I wasn’t going to remember many things for the book club meeting. I …

I’m back!

I am back, not that I wanted to, but nevertheless (yup, one word), here I am. It feels like ages ago since I was doing my usual, daily stuff and being today my first day back at work in a while, I can say that I wish I was still on holidays. Not necessarily in Madrid, just off. I’ve been feeling quite crappy for the past week or so (closer to two weeks now), and I’m quite fed up of being tired and down. Today, I was chatting with a friend at work and I told him that I’m a bit fed up with the universe. I’ll admit that it’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s an honest one. Universe, give me a damn break, please! If I think it rationally, it’s very true that I’m not suffering from starvation (no matter how hungry I’m feeling right now, which is a lot, I know it’s not a real issue), that I have a roof above my head (even if it’s mouldy in places), and …
