One leg stands

OK, this is already starting to get boring. I’m still on crutches. It’s been already longer than a week, and my knee should be getting better, only it isn’t. As soon as I have to walk more than 200m, or have to climb a flight of stairs, my knee starts hurting again. I know it’s a bit #FirstWorldProblems but when you have to work from home, or have to make two trips to the kitchen, or are likely to trip over your very own crutches, well, then it gets boring pretty fast. Of course, the main issue is that you suddenly realise how many things you would like to be doing, that you actually can’t, things such as wearing high heels, or running 5k. The whole bonus of getting attention and people bringing me coffee is starting to wear thin. This is just by having pain, mind you, I am not wearing a cast, or have to be in bed all day, I imagine those would be much worse in terms of boredom (and pain) …

Homemade weekend

Not being able to run about is tedious. Sure, I can walk, but I would rather be hopping here and there. Since I have to rest the knee as much as possible, and I’m in a bad mood about it, I decided to be an indoors cat this weekend, and take it as easy as possible. Good thing about being indoors is that you realise how much you miss the outdoors, I guess, but also, you catch up on projects. To be completely fair with all of you, I haven’t caught up on any of the projects I mentioned on this post, unfortunately. However, I have done a few other things. I’ve finally fixed my brother’s rucksack. It’s not perfect, I’m afraid, and I didn’t manage to insert the top handle again without having a crisis with my sewing machine, but it’s usable again. I wouldn’t put too much weight in it though… just in case. I’ve also done project #1 from Love at First Stitch, the book from Tilly, at Tilly and the Buttons. …

Photos

I am in not such a great mood at the moment, so apologies for the lack of motivational stuff… The reason is because on Sunday, I hurt my knee when doing Day 2 of Insanity, which sucks a lot. I haven’t done anything serious to it, but I’ve been told by the doctor to wear a crutch to avoid putting all my weight on it, and to not run or do any weird workouts for at least 3 weeks. See? It sucks… So, to avoid writing a negative post, I decided to share with you some pictures from my last trip to Paris. As usual, you can see more photos on flickr. I hope you like them! It felt right to give the photos a vintage look, for some reason. Maybe because I could imagine walking around these gardens when the nobility did (OK, there was no photography back then, but I don’t know how to do an oil painting) Of course, the moment I saw the ram (Aries) I had to take a photo …

Crazy people

It’s been a while now that I’ve been talking with my friend Brian about joining this craze called Insanity. He’s been doing it for a while and has always been telling me to do it too, but I’ve always been reluctant. Finally, I gave in. He showed me the fit test, so I could have a look at it and my, I was sweating only by watching it! It seems it’s a maximum intensity interval training (MIIT?) in which you basically push yourself to the limit, and then have a brief rest. You’re supposed to follow Insanity for 60 days. Somewhere along the way I convinced our friend Oummou to join us, and then I injured my knee again. They started, and I didn’t. You can imagine the amount of teasing and jokes I’ve had to endure ever since! However, I made a promise that I would start as soon as I was back from Paris, allowing Friday 13th to rest, maybe go out a bit, and because I don’t trust starting anything on Friday …
