[shutter and ink.] was conceived as a blog about writing and photography, but as life changes, so the blog has. It’s become more a blog about challenging yourself and making cool stuff, from knitted projects, to cakes.

Photography and writing are still prominent in the blog though, mostly as a medium, rather than on their own. Whenever I can, I try to take photographs of the projects I make, and many of the posts are long form. I am trying to focus a bit more on photography once again, and portraits in particular, as it’s one of my weak spots at the moment, amongst many other.

Who am I?
My name is Marta, and I live in London. That’s me on the right.

I’m originally from Madrid (Spain) and moved here over a decade ago, but I still have a strong accent, and my grammar has a mind of its own sometimes. Don’t let that put you off though! I’m usually quite easygoing, and sometimes I’m even fun.

Here I write about trying to be happy, and trying to be a better person, even if it’s just a tiny bit at a time. You’ll see a lot of writing, a lot of projects, and hopefully a lot of running (depending on how the motivation lasts). If you decide to visit regularly, then I’ll probably throw some challenges your way. Don’t worry, I won’t be keeping a close eye on you, you can just sit back, grab a cuppa, and relax while reading some of my crazy adventures.

If you’re looking for extensive how-to guides, or the answer to life (42?), I will probably disappoint you; but if you have a curious mind and don’t mind a bit of a mess, making things, and long chats until late at night (or early in the morning), then we might just get along.
