Pre-weekend

Haven’t you heard? It’s Bank Holiday weekend! Get ready for three days of rest. Just make sure you bring your sunglasses, and your umbrella, just in case… Because it always rains on Bank Holiday weekend. I haven’t checked the weather forecast yet, but that’s usually the case in London. This week has been a bit tough. I had a client event which has been harder than I expected, mostly because we finished late, and because it was in two floors of a pub, which meant I spent most of my evening running up and down the stairs. By the end of the night, I was very tired (I left at 11pm, but it was still packed!) and I was so focused on not losing work’s camera, that I actually forgot my cardigan. Fail! I only noticed the following morning, when I wanted to wear it and I couldn’t find it. Luckily, a colleague had found it and brought it to me in the morning, as lost property, not knowing it was actually mine! Score! I …

Snow everywhere

Snowboarding at Snowboxx

This past week has been an amazing week. I’ve been doing one of my favourite things everyday, and met with a bunch of great people. This is how it went… Unfortunately, I’m back from my one week holiday to the mountains. There were a lot of ups and downs, but overall it was an awesome week. It feels like ages ago since I headed to the airport with my suitcase, and it feels even longer since I last went to work. I’m not looking forward to it. I’m going to try to remember as much as I can, without boring you with all the details, as we all know nobody wants to hear other people going on and on about their holidays. The only main downside to this trip is that I didn’t take my DSLR, because I don’t trust my snowboarding skills enough to bring it with me on the slopes, which means that all pictures were taken with my phone or similar devices. I did take my GoPro a couple of days, but …

Beard Exhibition

Long week

Last week was an intense and interesting one. For one, I learnt a lot about myself, and confirmed as well that I know myself pretty accurately. On Wednesday, someone was recording people at work, for an induction video for new starters. I know I have plenty of issues with being in front of a camera, whether it’s for a photo or for a video, but I volunteered nevertheless because, do one thing that scares you everyday and all that. I recorded the first video, and I hated it. I thought I didn’t look too bad, and my voice wasn’t too terrible, but I could see I was way too nervous and uncomfortable, so I asked to film it again. We went somewhere where there were no people around, and I recorded a new video. I was still a bit uncomfortable, but it felt much more natural. At the end of the day, I volunteered to be filmed in the gym, because they also needed some footage for a wellbeing video. That day, I decided to …

Over 44600 steps in three days

Remind me to not do a weekend like this one ever again… At least not if I want to rest and be able to feel my legs. This weekend has been mental. I have the feeling Friday was years ago, not just a couple of days earlier. My shifts at the charity house were very quiet, which I’m thankful for. No fires, no burglaries, and no hospital emergencies of any kind. On Friday, I did my workout (I brought my dumbbells to the house, which sounds a bit stupid, but hey, I needed them), and it was brutal. It was, simply put, hardcore. There was one circuit, to be done four times (if I remember well) and it included burpees, and wall sits, and plank rows, and many other painful exercises… for 45 minutes. On Saturday morning, I left the house at 10.30am or so, and went to have a walk. I was meeting Sean for lunch at 1pm, so I had plenty of time. I walked by the river to London Bridge, and then …
