Long weekend

As you know, we had a bank holiday over here, so we enjoyed a longer weekend, and boy, what a weekend it was. The good thing about a long weekend is that you have time to be industrious, and time to waste, and you still feel like you’ve accomplished something. We had Friday drinks at work, with some snacks, and I ended up leaving late, just chatting to people (and a bit tipsy, to be honest…) On Saturday, I got up early to go watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with my friend George, and then we went for lunch. Despite having a headache, I decided to walk around London and visit some fabric shops and The London Graphic Centre after he left. I’m proud to report I didn’t overspend, as was my fear, especially since we hadn’t been paid yet! Finally, I forced myself to go home and take painkillers, because walking was becoming a bit of a torture. I just lay down for a bit, and then watched the football. The following day was …

Unfinished projects update: smaller hoodie

Do you know how I keep saying I’m a first class procrastinator? Well, I’ve never said those exact words, but you’ve probably heard me saying that I’m lazy as hell. I am. One of the projects I have half done is resizing (is that a word?) a hoodie I got for volunteering in the London to Brighton Cycle Ride. I went to Clapham, very early morning, and stood for a few hours, handing out brochures with a route map, ensuring cyclists had their bibs on, and making sure they had a great start. It was fun. During the whole time I had to wear a hoodie, but they didn’t have many left by the time I got there, so I ended up having to wear an extra large, or maybe it was double extra large, or something like that… can’t remember, judge for yourselves! As proof of how lazy I am, if you look at that mirror, that was my previous flat, and I moved almost a year ago. Yes, that’s how long it takes …

One more day

He couldn’t take his eyes away from the sight of his hands, covered in blood. Blood dripping steadily to the floor, almost hypnotically. He turned his hands around, as if not believing what he was seeing, as if he was confused, and tried to wipe them against each other, unsuccessfully. A low moan brought him back to the scene in front of him. ‘No, please,’ he almost begged, closing his eyes. ‘Why don’t you just die?’ He looked down to the girl lying on the floor, and cringed at the sight in front of him. She was looking at him with terrified big blue eyes, eyes made even bigger by the pain she surely was suffering. ‘Why don’t you just die?’ he whispered, a tear threatening to start falling across his cheek. ‘Please…’ she managed to say. Jenson wasn’t sure he would be able to strike her again, but she needed to die, sooner rather than later. He cast a quick glance at his watch, whose crystal was smeared with blood. Ten minutes to midnight, …

More photos from Paris, or Part II

Hello, me here! As part of trying to finish things I have half done, and also of posting frequently (and with an actual schedule, imagine!) I am going to try to keep things interested around here. A while ago, I mentioned there were more photos from Paris to come, and here they are. If you want a refresher, the photos from Pere Lachaise are here. Of course, you can find all these and many more on my flickr stream, if you’re curious. This is a small flower market my friend and I found ourselves. It’s behind Notre Dame. I seem to take photos of the cathedral only from behind, for some reason… Next time I’m there (in a couple of weeks), I’ll try to take some from the front! My friend took this photo of me. I’ve done a bit of post processing with the colours and such, but the composition and the rest are all hers! So, this is Aissa, my friend. She’s the best guide to walk around Paris. She’s the one taking …
