Chilling… literally!

Ugh… This week… I’ve been really busy at work, and completely spaced out, so tasks that would take me an hour to complete would take me two. What a pain! Good thing is that I’ve spent a lot of time looking at basic coding (html and CSS) so that’s kept me entertained. Also, I’ve had some friction with a couple of people, which had me on edge for most of the week, and despite the overall happy mode that I’ve grown used to maintain, I’ve had a sub-layer of annoyance all week long. I was supposed, as well, to go on a date on Wednesday, but the guy cancelled. I knew it was likely to happen (or not happen, actually), since he had told me before, but I think it annoyed me to have to chase for news. Luckily, I am one to find a plan whenever I need one, and definitely have back-up plans all around, and I went to have dim sum for dinner with my friend. On Thursday, I had another date, …

So I read your blog the other day…

It’s interesting to see how whenever I talk about more personal topics, I get more views on my posts. Or maybe it’s because I’m more thoughtful about how I tag this type of post, who knows. Anyway, since many of my readers who don’t actually follow me (as in clicking “follow me”), are Facebook or Twitter friends, colleagues or, in general, people who know me personally; most of the feedback I get is by comments voiced when passing each other in a corridor, or via message, or at drinks. “Hey, so I read your blog the other day…” It’s quite interesting for me, as I guess for anyone who writes, to find out what readers think of my pieces, if scary at times. When you write a blog, or a book, or something that will end up being public, you always fear the negative feedback you might receive. I tend to find that since the Internet provides you with anonymity, as I mentioned in my previous post, negative comments can be harsh and hurtful, rather …

Can’t stop, won’t stop

Happy Monday everyone! Isn’t it a great day today? At least in London it seems to be… We’ve had such nice weather this weekend, it’s been warm and sunny, and everyone is in spring mode already. Hopefully it will last just a bit longer, but oh, the difference the sun makes! It’s been such a busy weekend… I’m tired just thinking about it. Unfortunately, I was a bit sick on Friday, so I decided to work from home. It’s great I have that option available. I could keep myself warm and cosy, while still being productive. The main issue is, however, the lack of interaction. Since I sit in an area with lots of traffic in the office, I tend to talk to a lot of people at work, but being at home, I felt that I was missing the interruptions. Friday I still decided to keep it quiet and relaxed, since I was going to a seminar on Saturday and I needed to get up early. I was meeting my friend at 8.30am, so …

New platform and old question

As part of trying out new stuff, I decided to give Tumblr a go, after a friend recommended it to me (it was more like insisted that I try it) and created a Tumblr blog for my blog (if that makes any sense at all… who knows!?) I have to admit that despite being quite good at all this social media malarkey, and picking up different platforms quickly, I am still somewhat unsure about Tumblr. I don’t seem to get the hang of it, but maybe because so far I’m using it like I use Twitter. Anyway, as usual, there is a point to my rambling. I decided to use Tumblr in a different way, or try at least. More like a platform where to post short thoughts and random stuff that I wouldn’t post here, such as a nagging question, or a crazy idea that crosses my mind. Of course, I also follow other blogs, so I guess from time to time you will see photos of surfing, or tattoos, or stuff like that. …
