Month: February 2012

photos are up!

I’ve spent a lot of time working on the images from the photo walk, and I can now announce the photos are now uploaded to my flickr photostream. As you can see, I’ve changed the look and feel of the blog (and I will probably change it again, I’m afraid!) as I’m trying to find the right one… Not sure this one feels right yet… Anyway, I believe you can see the images on the bottom right of the site, or a link or something – let me know if it’s not there! Since I’m experimenting a bit, please bear with me with all the changes, and particularly forgive me if I miss any comment or like. As always, thanks for stopping by! marz

photo walk update

The photo walk was great! We had an amazing time and I’m quite happy as it was me organising it. Finally, we were only four people, but it was fine anyway, I’m glad that many showed up! We met at 5pm at the Tate, in London, and that was the first detail that made me realise I need to be more thorough when planning events well in advance: I hadn’t factored in the longer days! Of course, it was still day at 5pm yesterday! We moved to the front of the Tate and set our tripods to start catching images of the sky at dusk. It was really pretty with all those reds and a few clouds adding depth to the sky. I have to say I need much more practise at night photography, but it’s fine, it was my first time anyway! After managing to get everyone to the spot and despite one of the guys getting lost by confusing Millenium Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge, we finally started working. I took way too many …

night photography

Hello there! I’m just writing to let you know about my plans for tonight. Why? You must be wondering… Well, tonight I’m going on a photo walk with a group of photography lovers! We’re practising night photography and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Right now I’m not sure how many we’re going to be, four for sure, but maybe six. We’re going to photograph a couple of areas of London, playing with the camera settings and hoping to learn a lot! I’ve never done night photography, so you can imagine how exciting this is. We’re not going to the usual (yet amazing at night) places like Piccadilly, but will portray some equally beautiful areas around the Thames. Thinking about it now, I’ve been expecting today for a long time, as I organised this before I went to Argentina! The rest of my projects are on pause at the moment, due to budget restrains. It’s the end of the month and I can’t spend money on materials. I’m still crocheting, but I’m growing bored …

quick catch up

Typical of me… It’s so hard to keep posting regularly! I normally remember when I’m away from the computer, but I think it’s such a pain to post from my phone… Maybe I could try to keep the phone updates shorter, and maybe add some tagline. Something to consider! Anyway, so I have the drawer chests I bought online and due to a lack of general storage space and me being fed up with having the boxes lying around, I already built them (not sure if I have already mentioned this, by the way). I’ve been using them for a few days now, and I like them. Even though I had all the measurements spot on in my mind, they turned out to be much smaller than what I thought they would be. Interesting. Still, they look nice. So that I don’t get too comfortable and never continue with the customization, I haven’t attached the pulls to them, so it’s a struggle to open them (see? Psychology at its best!) Hopefully next month I will …
