A bit of process

The other day a friend, after reading one of my posts, mentioned that it was impressive the amount of work I seem to put behind some of them, with research and so on. He wondered how long it normally takes me to write a post. Of course, it depends on each one of them. Some posts take me just a few minutes to write (and then a bit longer to proof read them and make edits) but I can pretty much publish a post in less than half an hour, if in a hurry. Other posts, on the contrary, take a bit longer. A quick look at my drafts can tell you that some ideas have been there for quite a long time, some have been gathering dust for months even! Those are the extreme cases. Normally, my inspiration comes from pretty much everywhere. From the songs that I’m listening to, to whichever is happening in the news. More often than not, it’s just a small detail that prompts me to think and wonder, and …

Long weekend

As you know, we had a bank holiday over here, so we enjoyed a longer weekend, and boy, what a weekend it was. The good thing about a long weekend is that you have time to be industrious, and time to waste, and you still feel like you’ve accomplished something. We had Friday drinks at work, with some snacks, and I ended up leaving late, just chatting to people (and a bit tipsy, to be honest…) On Saturday, I got up early to go watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with my friend George, and then we went for lunch. Despite having a headache, I decided to walk around London and visit some fabric shops and The London Graphic Centre after he left. I’m proud to report I didn’t overspend, as was my fear, especially since we hadn’t been paid yet! Finally, I forced myself to go home and take painkillers, because walking was becoming a bit of a torture. I just lay down for a bit, and then watched the football. The following day was …

quick catch up

Typical of me… It’s so hard to keep posting regularly! I normally remember when I’m away from the computer, but I think it’s such a pain to post from my phone… Maybe I could try to keep the phone updates shorter, and maybe add some tagline. Something to consider! Anyway, so I have the drawer chests I bought online and due to a lack of general storage space and me being fed up with having the boxes lying around, I already built them (not sure if I have already mentioned this, by the way). I’ve been using them for a few days now, and I like them. Even though I had all the measurements spot on in my mind, they turned out to be much smaller than what I thought they would be. Interesting. Still, they look nice. So that I don’t get too comfortable and never continue with the customization, I haven’t attached the pulls to them, so it’s a struggle to open them (see? Today it was quite good at work. The team are finally coming to me to ask me questions, and I felt a bit more like I belonged in there. This has been a hectic week. I have been doing so many things, been so busy… Luckily it’s over now and I’m officially on holidays!! It’s funny how time passes by… I was thinking earlier, I had wanted to go to Argentina last Christmas, and couldn’t afford it. Then, I booked the flights in March. I was in my previous flat, and my card was blocked because my bank thought it had been stolen! I had to spend 40 minutes trying to get it to work again. I changed my bank, and my flat. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great they picked the strange online shopping, but I still think they should have tried contacting me or something before blocking my card and forcing me to answer a lot of questions on the phone, and keep me on hold for nearly 15 minutes!
