Survival 101 – food on the run

You know how I always talk about the zombie apocalypse and how I say I’m trying to get ready for it? After all, when it happens, I don’t want to be eaten in the first wave of attacks, that’d be sad, and I would miss all the fun. You know how this goes (or at least, how films and series are telling us it will go), someone will get infected by some strange experiment, or travelling to a far away country, or being bitten by some animal. That person will get flu-like symptoms, which will ignore, until it’s too late, maybe going to a hospital just before dying and becoming a zombie. Let’s say someone at the morgue will examine the body, usually when there’s no one around, and will get bitten. Or something like that. Before you know it, we’re surrounded, scavenging for food, and trying to survive. I don’t want to be that person who doesn’t know what’s going around, the one that dies first in every film and series. That one that …

Playing with ink!

Hello everyone! I guess this post can be included in the Handmade Life category (yay!!), and it’s a good thing, since it’s been a long time since I last posted about that sort of topic… so, let me place the pretty title below, and let’s begin! On Monday, I went to a screen printing workshop at The Book Club. I had never done screen printing before, but it’s something I’ve wanted to try for a while now. To play with inks and fabric, and create something unique? Totally my thing! At first, I was going with a friend, but I finally went there on my own, which is something I tend to do quite often lately, just try stuff by myself and, you know, jump in there and see what happens. I arrived early, and it was quite intimidating. I had never been in that place before, and there were people sitting around in groups, drinking and chatting, and then me. What do you do when you’re on your own, in a bar you have …

Writing about nothing…

I was writing a post and half way through I pressed ctrl+z by mistake and it all went poof!, deleted. Ah well, round two, I guess… I was just saying that the weekend has been interesting, yet boring. Friday was nice, I went for a drink with my date, and while the bar was cool, and the views were amazing, I must say that I wasn’t wowed. The girls there were dressed like bimbos, and the drinks were quite expensive (the guys were dressed as City guys, mainly, but I wouldn’t expect anything else from that area). So, slightly disappointed by the place. http://instagram.com/p/kaiSItwlzl/ We had fun though. Even though we’re definitely not meant for each other, we laughed and chatted for a few hours, before trying to brave the elements and fight the wind that was raging outside. As usual, coming back home turned into a quest. I had to take a different route, as I had just missed my train, and I ended up in the middle of nowhere, waiting for a bus …

Is something happening this week?

It’s lunchtime, and it’s Thursday! I’m here, sitting at my desk, and eating my lunch, trying to keep my mood up because, if I’m honest with you, I’m not feeling it today. I woke up feeling sluggish, and had to convince myself to get out of bed. I am mighty tired. I’m not fooling myself, I have a good idea of why I’m feeling this way. This week I have put my body to a bit of testing, and it has resulted in my body crying stop. Of course, I still have energy to keep moving, but it feels like I’m running on dry cogs – it’s slow and noisy and painful. Since I did Zumba on Monday, and then ran and did weight lifting on Tuesday – when I shouldn’t have, if I may add; I was already tired. Then I had to get some blood tests done, which I did on Wednesday morning, and which added to the tiredness I was feeling. Not only that, but I started feeling sore from training the …
