Makegood Festival

How was your weekend? Mine was actually a bit packed… A friend has come to visit from Madrid. On Friday, we went to pick up the keys to the place he was staying in, and then we went out in Shoreditch (I know it’s not cool to like Shoreditch anymore, but I love it there!) We ate and drank a lot of beer and, as usual, going back home was a nightmare, mainly because of my unbelievable skills to get lost. Of course, it didn’t help the fact that half of the streets were closed with road works and some bus stops were not in use… Finally, I managed to find a bus that would work for both of us, and we actually made it home in one piece! Yay! On Saturday, despite the slight hangover, and my limping (I hurt my “good” knee again on Friday, before I even had a drop of beer! I’m definitely not ageing gracefully… Sigh), I got up early and went all the way to Deptford to ask about …

Unfinished projects update: smaller hoodie

Do you know how I keep saying I’m a first class procrastinator? Well, I’ve never said those exact words, but you’ve probably heard me saying that I’m lazy as hell. I am. One of the projects I have half done is resizing (is that a word?) a hoodie I got for volunteering in the London to Brighton Cycle Ride. I went to Clapham, very early morning, and stood for a few hours, handing out brochures with a route map, ensuring cyclists had their bibs on, and making sure they had a great start. It was fun. During the whole time I had to wear a hoodie, but they didn’t have many left by the time I got there, so I ended up having to wear an extra large, or maybe it was double extra large, or something like that… can’t remember, judge for yourselves! As proof of how lazy I am, if you look at that mirror, that was my previous flat, and I moved almost a year ago. Yes, that’s how long it takes …

Sewing Kit DIY

Hi there! I’m ready to write a new post for the blog, oh yeah! Exactly a week after my last post. If you’ve been wondering what was taking me so long, flu has. It sort of melted my brain into a mix of… stuffy, disgusting bits. Anyway, here I am again, and I have a post for all of you. I’ve been working on this one for a while, if not on the text, at least on the images. They were all taken with my phone (S4) and then perfected (ha!) in Photoshop, mainly because I tend to get creative at night, so the lighting in all my quick phone pictures is usually bad. That’s how I seem to roll… This is something I saw on Pinterest. I think the first time I saw stuff like this was probably on one of the million photos and posts about doing things with Mason jars. For some reason, it seems I never pinned any of those, but pinned this one instead, which let’s be honest, it’s much …

Playing with ink!

Hello everyone! I guess this post can be included in the Handmade Life category (yay!!), and it’s a good thing, since it’s been a long time since I last posted about that sort of topic… so, let me place the pretty title below, and let’s begin! On Monday, I went to a screen printing workshop at The Book Club. I had never done screen printing before, but it’s something I’ve wanted to try for a while now. To play with inks and fabric, and create something unique? Totally my thing! At first, I was going with a friend, but I finally went there on my own, which is something I tend to do quite often lately, just try stuff by myself and, you know, jump in there and see what happens. I arrived early, and it was quite intimidating. I had never been in that place before, and there were people sitting around in groups, drinking and chatting, and then me. What do you do when you’re on your own, in a bar you have …
